Koalas In Peregian

The Sunshine Coats Koala Rescue is a volunteer organisation that runs 24/7 care for orphaned, sick and injured koalas all across Queensland. They hold education programs, attempting to educate the community of the sunshine coast about local koalas and how they can help, an example being to plant Eucalyptus Trees sufficient for the Koalas eating and resting in and around their backyards. They are working with the government and council and try to come up with new ideas to save the koalas and change some laws regarding their safety. They accept and encourage donations and sponsors, also new volunteers. They advise everyone to be careful while driving and to keep dogs under control.

Letter;

Dear Sunshine Coast Koala Wildlife Rescue,

Today I am writing to share with you some of my ideas to increase the koala’s population on the Sunshine Coast. Although there are many fences and tunnels running along main highways and road, I suggest that you fix the fences as I have noticed many holes in them, also I would put up many more signs along streets in residential areas and back roads. To raise the money to fund this you could appeal for a grant from the government or create a free dress day within local schools.  You could also plant more Eucalyptus trees around the Koalas main areas and raise awareness in the public with posters or banners. Thank you for reading my letter and I beg that you consider these ideas.

Your Sincerely,

Jasmine Ronson, year 9, St Andrews Anglican College
